PM Leads Cabinet in Flag Tribute on Thai National Flag Day

Prime Minister Anuthin Charnvirakul and Minister of Interior led the ceremony at Government House on September 28 at 8:00 a.m., presiding over a flag-saluting and national anthem-singing event marking Thai National Flag Day. The cabinet, prime minister's secretary, and government officials from various departments participated in the ceremony, standing at attention to honor the flag and sing the national anthem together.
The ceremony commemorates King Maha Vajiralongkorn's bestowal of the Tricolor flag as Thailand's national flag through the amended Flag Act of 2460 (1917), which took effect on September 28 of that year. The Prime Minister's Office proposed that September 28 each year be designated Thai National Flag Day, beginning in 2017. The activity aims to cultivate national pride and express respect and gratitude to the King for granting the Tricolor as the official flag of Thailand.
