Police have arrested 34 individuals involved in a violent dispute between rival gangs in the Khlong Toei area of Bangkok, with youths allegedly throwing explosive objects that caused loud blasts and panic among residents. The incident was reported on social media, prompting coordinated investigations by Khlong Tan, Phra Khanong, and Tha Ruea police stations, who analyzed closed-circuit television footage and tracked suspects across both neighborhoods.
Investigators identified 34 people: 16 from the Tha Ruea community (14 minors and 2 adults) and 18 from the Phra Khanong–Sukhumvit 62 area (16 minors and 2 adults). Charges filed include rioting, conspiracy to assault, carrying and detonating explosive objects without authorization, carrying weapons in public without lawful cause, public disturbance, drawn weapons during conflict, harassment, intimidation, and assault. Juvenile suspects have been remanded in custody for 15 days before bail proceedings can begin; the two adult suspects each face 100,000 baht bail set by Bangkok Southern Criminal Court. Investigators are also examining the liability of the youths' parents. Police Division 5 has pledged to intensify prevention and suppression measures against gang clashes and public disorder.
