Police are searching for relatives of an unidentified man whose body was found floating in the Chao Phraya River. At 11:53 a.m. on September 13, 2026, officers from Pak Khlong Saan Police Station received a report of a male body floating in the river near the pier below Rama VIII Bridge. Medical examiners from Siriraj Hospital and rescue volunteers from the Por Tek Tung Foundation were dispatched to investigate.
At the scene near the pier below Rama VIII Bridge in the Wat Khaen subdistrict of Thonburi district, Bangkok, officers found a male body floating face-up in the river. A rescue boat pulled the body to shore, where volunteers helped carry it onto the riverbank.
Initial examination indicates the man was unidentified, approximately 45–50 years old, with dark reddish skin and a slim build. He stood around 155–160 centimeters tall, had short hair, and was wearing only black shorts with no shirt. The body showed signs of bloating, suggesting death occurred more than 48 hours earlier.
No identification documents or personal valuables were found on the body, and there were no visible wounds indicating death from assault or injury.
Police and medical examiners have ordered rescue volunteers to conduct a detailed autopsy to determine the precise cause of death and to identify the deceased before proceeding with legal procedures.
Meanwhile, police will urgently review missing persons records and search for the victim's relatives to notify the family and arrange for the body to be returned for religious funeral rites.
