Industry Minister Launches 3% Loan Scheme for Thai SMEs
Industry Minister Varavuth Silpa-archa has partnered with the Federation of Thai Industries and SME D Bank to launch a new support program for small and medium enterprises. The initiative offers low-interest loans, business development services, and targeted assistance for food, processed agriculture, and wellness firms. It aims to help SMEs survive rising costs, adapt to market changes, and achieve sustainable growth.
Under the MOU, the Federation of Thai Industries will screen its roughly 16,000 members, over 80% of which are SMEs, and connect them to SME D Bank’s 96 branches nationwide. The bank will offer tailored financial tools such as investment and working capital loans, including the SME Green Productivity Loan of up to 30 million baht per borrower, while also providing consulting, knowledge transfer, and skill development. Both parties will jointly monitor results to ensure tangible outcomes. The three-year agreement, effective October 7, 2026, seeks to increase funding access, improve liquidity, support investment, expand operations, and boost productivity, while raising technology, innovation, management, and marketing capabilities to enhance SME competitiveness.
