The collaboration introduces three products—Future A2 Protein, Future Organic A2 Protein, and Nutura Organic—supported by a comprehensive supply chain system covering nutrition information, storage, and distribution to build consumer trust and enable long-term growth.

Soe Kammint, Future (Thailand) representative, said the partnership reflects shared business values, including sustainable farmer and consumer care and a commitment to product quality. The company selects brands based on product data, scientific evidence, production standards, and service readiness, establishing partnerships with long-term frameworks exceeding 10 years.

P, Head of Logistics, revealed that SPM has developed warehouse and logistics infrastructure meeting brand standards. The company operates seven warehouses across four distribution centers with temperature-controlled facilities maintaining 22 degrees Celsius around the clock, plus security systems to support all three product groups. Deep Divisions at Thailand's Broadcast Regulator Threaten Stability

Three majority-faction commissioners are boycotting Thailand's broadcast regulator over doubts about the chair's qualifications, paralyzing the agency as the PM seeks his removal through the courts.

Deep Divisions at Thailand's Broadcast Regulator Threaten Stability
4d ago Khaosod

Internal divisions at the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the country's independent media and telecom regulator, are raising questions about a structural crisis. The NBTC board has repeatedly failed to convene due to absent quorum and walkouts by three majority-faction commissioners—Professor Pirongpong Ramsoot, Lieutenant General Thanaphan Railaichairn, and Associate Professor Suphat Supchalasai—who have chosen to abstain from participation.

The core dispute centers on the qualifications of NBTC Chair Professor Sorn Boonyibhaichaiprucks. The NBTC selection committee unanimously ruled that the chair lacks the required qualifications and has grounds for disqualification due to conflicting roles with other state agencies from the outset. The commissioners fear that proceeding under his leadership could render all decisions void and expose them to criminal liability.

Although Prime Minister Anuthiny Charnveerakul submitted a royal petition on August 11, 2025, seeking the chair's removal, the chair continued participating in the August 13 board meeting, insisting he must continue his duties and denying any wrongdoing. He emphasized having acted lawfully and ethically throughout, and filed an appeal to the Administrative Court of Justice. The board collapsed for a fifth consecutive time in over five months due to insufficient quorum.

Commissioner Pirongpong stated readiness to proceed with six remaining commissioners under existing legal provisions, citing numerous urgent agenda items. However, he reiterated that the three cannot participate in meetings chaired by Sorn, citing the selection committee's disqualification ruling and noting that the Administrative Court has already refused to hear the chair's case, making the committee's decision final. Pirongpong warned that allowing Sorn to continue as chair risks rendering all board decisions and actions legally invalid.

Thai Heritage Collecting Program Launches Professional Certification

Thai Heritage Collecting Program Launches Professional Certification
4d ago Khaosod

Kasetsart University and the Fine Arts Department have opened the third annual Art Collecting exhibition, promoting a micro-credential curriculum to establish antique collecting as a recognized profession. The event, held August 13–15, 2025, at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, brings together Fine Arts Department Director Phanombut Chanthrachoti, university leaders, scholars, collectors, and students to celebrate Thai artistic heritage. The collaboration aims to preserve and expand knowledge of Thai art heritage, creating economic value and national soft power while developing the first micro-credential curriculum in antique collecting to give people of all ages the opportunity to learn, develop skills, and earn national professional certification.

Director Phanombut emphasized that modern conservation of Thai artistic heritage requires systematic collection, storage, and knowledge transmission, as much expertise remains with older generations at risk of being lost. He noted that collecting can begin as a personal passion—from amulets to various artifacts—but with dedication can develop into a stable profession. "The value collectors find in their acquisitions transcends monetary worth," he said, adding that institutions like Kasetsart University can help turn such passion into recognized careers and new opportunities for people to discover their interests.

Associate Professor Mandol stated that Kasetsart University aims to serve as a lifelong learning hub connecting Thai artistic heritage knowledge to the broader public. The university will integrate expertise from collector networks, specialists, and academics into a credit bank system and the micro-credential curriculum for antique collecting, elevating the practice from personal hobby to professional qualification and future career opportunity.

The event features exhibitions of rare artworks from leading collectors nationwide, including amulets, ancient ceramics, antique textiles, and historically valuable collections. Seminars and workshops offer participants guidance on collecting, valuation, and heritage management as a financial asset—a growing interest in the creative economy. This year's program reflects Kasetsart University's role in connecting knowledge and positioning collecting as a legitimate cultural and economic field.

Hudson Backs Thailand Despite Strong Singapore Test
4d ago Khaosod

Thailand coach Anthony Hudson has praised Singapore as a formidable opponent ahead of their first knockout round match in the 2026 AFF Cup, but remains confident in his team's chances. Hudson held a press conference at the AFF headquarters on August 14, ahead of the semifinal first leg between Singapore (ranked 148th globally) and Thailand (ranked 94th), alongside right-back Waris Suthong.

Hudson emphasized that he does not focus heavily on past head-to-head records, but that winning the match would be meaningful. He stressed the importance of method and team play, noting that the squad has benefited from rotation in earlier rounds and that no players are suspended for this match. The coach expressed pride in his players' performances and their ability to keep a clean sheet throughout the group stage.

"I respect Singapore greatly," Hudson said. "They have developed significantly over the years. They have a good coach and players I am familiar with. Singapore works hard and plays well as a team. Importantly, we do not overlook them. Singapore is a strong opponent that we must be prepared to face."

Hudson acknowledged the tournament's demanding schedule but praised the team's cohesion and work ethic. He noted the squad has trained well and worked hard together every week with high mutual understanding. The coach said he is satisfied with the team's preparation and feels confident they can perform well.

Regarding Singapore's tactical setup, Hudson stated: "Singapore is a strong team. Their head coach has effectively communicated tactical ideas to the players in both attack and defense. We respect them highly because I faced them in November and we understand them well, but they are different now. As coaching staff, we are well prepared. We know our strengths and are ready."

Tooth Extraction Leads to Severe Sinus Infection in 20-Year-Old

Tooth Extraction Leads to Severe Sinus Infection in 20-Year-Old
4d ago Khaosod

A man in his twenties developed severe nasal congestion about a week after having his upper right wisdom tooth extracted. He experienced continuous yellow nasal discharge mixed with fluid and persistent abnormal odors from inside his nose.

ENT specialist Dr. Chen Shih-Szu evaluated the patient and found fluid draining continuously from the right sinus opening during endoscopy. Even after bacterial culture and medication, symptoms did not improve noticeably. Subsequent endoscopy and CT imaging revealed the right maxillary sinus completely filled with fluid, along with bone defects in the sinus floor at the extraction site.

After a dentist confirmed the extraction wound had healed properly and ruled out remaining infection, Dr. Chen performed Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS). During the procedure, he enlarged the blocked sinus opening through the nasal cavity, then drained and cleaned the accumulated fluid. This restored normal sinus drainage and ventilation.

Why can tooth extraction cause sinus fluid and odor?

Dr. Chen explained that the roots of upper teeth sit very close to the floor of the maxillary sinus. In some people, tooth roots may press directly against the sinus floor or even protrude into it. During upper molar or wisdom tooth extraction, an opening can form connecting the mouth to the sinus—a condition called oroantral communication.

Small openings may close naturally, but if one fails to seal and becomes a persistent connection, or oroantral fistula, bacteria from the mouth can enter the sinus and cause odontogenic sinusitis.

Dr. Chen emphasized that bone defects visible on CT scans do not always indicate a remaining fistula; dental and oral examination is needed to confirm.

Dr. Chen warned that odontogenic sinusitis has two main causes: direct dental disease such as tooth decay, gum disease, or root tip infection, and complications following dental treatment like extraction, implant placement, or sinus floor elevation. A key feature is one-sided symptoms. Anyone who has received upper tooth treatment and then develops one-sided nasal congestion, yellow nasal discharge with fluid, or persistent unusual odors should seek prompt medical evaluation.

SURAT THANI — Israel's ambassador to Thailand has asked Surat Thani authorities to help ensure the safety and well-being of Israeli tourists, long-term residents and business operators in the province.

Ambassador Alona Fisher-Kamm made the request during a meeting with Surat Thani Governor Jumphot Wannachatsiri and provincial officials at the provincial hall on 13 August.

Fisher-Kamm said most Israelis were law-abiding and well-behaved, while acknowledging that some individuals could commit offences. She said Israel, like other countries, has both good and bad individuals, adding that social media can sometimes create misunderstandings and make people feel unsafe.

The ambassador asked provincial authorities to contact the Israeli Embassy directly if problems involving Israeli nationals arise so that the two sides can work together to resolve them. She said Israeli authorities had already provided visitors with basic guidance on Thai customs, culture and local laws, including prohibited activities.

Israel currently has five projects aimed at promoting cooperation in Thailand, including a high-value agricultural development project in Koh Samui, she said. Fisher-Kamm also said she planned to invite the Surat Thani governor to attend a meeting in Israel in November.

Governor Jumphot said Surat Thani treats tourists from all countries equally and takes legal action against anyone who violates Thai law regardless of nationality. He said provincial authorities were committed to providing transparent and equal treatment to visitors of all nationalities to ensure they feel safe and have a positive experience in the province.

Jumphot also welcomed potential cooperation with Israel on high-value agriculture, saying Israeli projects could provide useful examples for Surat Thani to study. He said provincial agencies were ready to coordinate with Israeli businesses and visitors, directing business-related matters to the provincial commerce office, tourism issues to the provincial tourism and sports office, and security concerns to provincial police and immigration authorities.

The two officials exchanged souvenirs before concluding the meeting. Fisher-Kamm was making her fourth visit to Surat Thani. During the visit, she was scheduled to preside over the opening of Khuan La School in Tha Chang district and meet with the Surat Thani provincial police chief later in the day.

CHONBURI — Police arrested a 30-year-old Chinese man identified as Zhang at a Pattaya condominium on August 14, 2026, on suspicion of directing a money-laundering operation for scam gangs that processed more than 8.8 million baht. Zhang was wanted by Chinese authorities on fraud and money-laundering charges and was also charged in Thailand with visa overstaying.

Investigators said Zhang was a senior figure who recruited and managed a network using ATM cards and bank accounts to withdraw and transfer funds from scams while obscuring their origin. He reportedly travelled to Thailand in 2023 and 2024 to coordinate with accomplices and operate the network from the country. Members rotated personal bank accounts to receive fraud proceeds before making large cash withdrawals.

The network handled approximately 1.8 million yuan, equivalent to 8.8 million baht. According to police, Zhang fled China through Japan after learning of an impending arrest warrant, then entered Thailand illegally and remained hidden since March 2025. Crime Suppression Division officers, working with Chon Buri immigration police, located and arrested him at the condominium. Zhang confessed to using Thailand as a base for money laundering and admitted to hiding from Chinese authorities. He was handed over to immigration police for deportation and prosecution in China.
