Thammasat Business School's Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy has officially launched TBS AIR (AI Readiness, Innovation & Responsible Transformation Center) under the vision "From AI-Ready Organizations to an AI-Ready Thailand." The center serves as a central platform connecting knowledge, research, AI transformation readiness assessment, governance, and comprehensive organizational transformation. It has also signed a partnership agreement with the AI Transformation Readiness Institute (AITR) to strengthen Thailand's AI capabilities for global competitiveness.

Associate Professor Surat Theerakhapibal, dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy at Thammasat University, stated that AI is no longer merely a technology agenda but is transforming how people learn, work, make decisions, and compete. Under TBS's vision of "Empowering Business Leaders in Asia," the school's role extends beyond producing graduates or teaching tool usage to preparing people, developing leaders, elevating organizations, and bridging the university and business sectors.

"The critical question today is not whether we use AI, but whether people, organizations, universities, and Thailand are ready to transform AI into productivity, innovation, trust, and real results," Surat emphasized.

TBS AIR is not merely a technology lab but a platform creating impact at every level—individual, organizational, societal, national, and regional. At the organizational level, it helps senior executives and boards make precise decisions on AI, data, and technology investments with proper governance systems to build long-term regional capabilities.

Associate Professor Nopphon Rueangwanit, director of TBS AIR, highlighted the core problem: organizations are not lacking AI tools and pilots, which are proliferating rapidly, but rather "having more AI does not automatically lead to transformation." Many organizations are caught in the "AI Adoption Trap"—they can use AI but cannot scale it or demonstrate clear business outcomes.

TBS AIR focuses on three core questions: AI-Ready (Is the organization ready to create value from AI?), Innovation (Where can AI create new value?), and Responsible Transformation (How can we scale AI with trust?). The center's logic moves from Readiness to Value Creation to Trusted Scale, viewing AI not merely as technology but as transformational at every organizational level.
