Thai AirAsia Launches 53 Routes to 46 Asian Cities for Peak Season
Thai AirAsia is restoring 53 routes to 46 Asian cities from Don Mueang Airport starting this peak season, with major focus on expanded service to Japan and India as travel demand recovers.
Thai AirAsia is deploying 53 routes to 46 Asian cities from Don Mueang Airport for the high season, focusing on Indian and Japanese markets with full capacity. Thanasita Akkarit, the airline's commercial director, said that in the third quarter the carrier had to cut flights and suspend service on some routes due to lower demand and elevated fuel prices to manage costs appropriately. As the high season begins and travel demand recovers, Thai AirAsia is fully restoring suspended routes and gradually increasing frequency on popular services.
"We are confident that travel will pick up again this high season, both Thai travelers going abroad and foreign visitors coming to Thailand," the airline said. Thai AirAsia will resume six suspended Indian routes and restore Phuket-Siem Reap service. The Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur route is also returning, allowing international visitors to connect conveniently with the airline's extensive network.
In the fourth quarter, Thai AirAsia X will offer full service, particularly on direct routes from Don Mueang to Japan: Tokyo with up to 21 weekly flights, Osaka 14 weekly, Sapporo 4 weekly (starting October 1) increasing to 7 weekly from December 1, and Nagoya 4 weekly (starting October 2). The airline also operates direct service to Delhi, India, with 4 weekly flights and to Almaty, Kazakhstan, with 4 weekly flights.
Combined, Thai AirAsia will operate 53 direct routes from Don Mueang to 46 cities in its winter 2025 schedule: 17 East Asian cities including China, Japan, Taiwan, and Macau; 15 ASEAN cities such as Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos; 13 South Asian cities including India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives; and one Central Asian city, Kazakhstan.
Routes resuming in Q4 2025: Thai AirAsia (FD): Don Mueang-Kuala Lumpur (October 25), Phuket-Siem Reap (October 25), Don Mueang-Kochi (October 25), Don Mueang-Ahmedabad (November 6), Don Mueang-Guwahati (November 16), Don Mueang-Hyderabad (November 16), Don Mueang-Lucknow (November 16), Don Mueang-Chandigarh (November 17). Thai AirAsia X (XJ): Don Mueang-Sapporo (October 1), Don Mueang-Nagoya (October 2).
