Thai Sprinters Break Records, Advance at Asian Games
Thai sprinter Jiraphatch Khananantaa smashed her own 100-metre record with 11.45 seconds to advance to the Asian Games semi-finals in Nagoya, while teammate Sukanida Phetcharak also qualified.
Jiraphatch Khananantaa broke her own record in the women's 100-metre heats and advanced to the semi-finals alongside Sukanida Phetcharak at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya held at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium on September 24. In the first day of competition, Jiraphatch ran to victory in Heat 2 of the 100-metre heats with a time of 11.45 seconds, shattering her previous personal best of 11.49 seconds and securing a spot in the semi-finals. Sukanida Phetcharak also qualified for the semi-finals in the women's 100-metre heats, finishing third in Heat 1 with a time of 11.54 seconds.
