Two DSI Officers Pledged as Bail in Local Exam Fraud Case

On September 12, 2025, police arrested Prawit (surname withheld), a former parliamentary candidate for the Pheu Thai Party, on charges of soliciting benefits by falsely claiming he could assist with local government civil service recruitment examinations. The investigation later expanded to uncover connections to senior officials at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).
Police subsequently arrested two additional suspects: Ittiphon (surname withheld), age 49, a specialist investigator in the Foreign Affairs and International Crime Division, and Anurak (surname withheld), age 46, a senior specialist investigator with the DSI. Both were arrested on warrant from the Corruption and Misconduct Court Section 3, charged with soliciting or accepting assets or benefits for themselves or others as compensation for influencing officials through corrupt, illegal, or abusive means to perform or refrain from performing official duties under Criminal Code Section 143 and the Anti-Corruption Act of 2017 Section 175.
According to the Anti-Corruption and Good Governance Command, both suspects denied all charges during interrogation and requested temporary release using their official positions as collateral. Investigators approved their bail after determining they held stable government positions.
