The Special Investigation Department has interviewed about 100 victims and gathered substantial financial evidence in its investigation of People's Party MP Bhavuth Pongsitthiphanu in a forex fraud case, with Justice Minister Rutthapol sayi
At 8:50 a.m. on July 8, 2025, at Government House, Justice Minister General Rutthapol Naorawat gave an interview about the Special Investigation Department's (DSI) findings regarding Bhavuth Pongsitthiphanu, a People's Party list MP, who clarified his involvement in the Forex case on July 6. The minister noted that no formal report has been filed yet. The DSI has interviewed approximately 100 victims while simultaneously collecting evidence, transaction records, and financial data. Officials believe the investigation should be completed before parliament's session ends on July 11.
When asked what it means to complete before the parliamentary session closes on July 11, Rutthapol said the DSI may update the number of witnesses interviewed and details of evidence received without any interference or overreach from his ministry.
When journalists asked if there were remaining doubts about Bhavuth's clarification, Rutthapol said he had not yet discussed that matter and suggested officials would clarify what could be disclosed publicly and what must remain confidential.
Regarding when the DSI will file charges, Rutthapol stated he was uncertain, noting only that 100 witnesses have been interviewed and considerable transaction and financial trail evidence has been gathered. He deferred questions about specific evidence details to the DSI.
Asked whether the prime minister must be notified before charges are filed, Rutthapol said the DSI must follow established procedures and legal requirements, which he believes already include prime ministerial notification.
