Gang Surrenders After 37-Year-Old Shot Dead
Three gang members, aged 15 to 19, surrendered to police in Nakhon Si Thammarat after fatally shooting a 37-year-old man on September 19, claiming they fired in self-defense during a roadside altercation.
Police have taken three gang members into custody following the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man named Tosapol on the Na Phru-Benjama Road in Chaiyamantri Subdistrict, Muang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, in the early hours of September 19. The suspects, aged 19, 18, and 15, surrendered along with a short-barreled shotgun to Muang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station.
According to the initial confession, the suspects said they fired in self-defense after Tosapol and a group of four or five others blocked the road while they were driving, threw objects at them, and hurled insults. After firing one shot and later learning someone had died, they turned themselves in to police. Police have charged the suspects with intentional murder and firearm law violations, and the suspects have confessed to all charges.
