Cook Vegetable Oil Launches Organic Waste Innovation Program

Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company, in partnership with the Samut Prakan Primary Education District Office Zone 1 and Butterfly Organization, formally opened an innovative organic waste management greenhouse facility at Khlong Na Kleua Noi School in Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan on August 17, 2025. The event included educational presentations on organic waste management using black soldier fly larvae by social enterprise Canna Flower Company Limited, knowledge-sharing sessions led by Wat Kaek School students, and site visits demonstrating BSF breeding and reproduction techniques. The project aims to advance circular economy development and community-level sustainability.

Adul Prempresertsee, CEO of Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company, explained that this facility builds on a previous innovative organic waste management greenhouse opened at Ko Si Chang in 2023, which serves as both a learning center and community livelihood development hub. The company adheres to a Sustainable Business Strategy based on the 4G principles: Green Corporate, Great Culture, Good Governance, and Global Sustainability, with particular focus on inspiring and shifting mindsets throughout the supply chain toward efficient source waste separation and maximizing the diversion of organic waste from recyclable and general waste streams to create added value and shared sustainability.

Phet Wang Lee, Managing Director of Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products, emphasized the company's ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement, noting that the organic waste innovation greenhouse supports environmentally friendly organic waste management through innovation while promoting community development and strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration among the company, communities, and partners.

The Khlong Na Kleua Noi School greenhouse is the fourth facility of its kind, adding to three existing greenhouses at Ko Si Chang, Phra Samut Chedi Kindergarten, and Wat Kaek School. This year, the company plans to upgrade all three existing facilities into full-fledged "Community-Level Organic Waste Management Learning Centers" with comprehensive curriculum development integrating environmental education into school programs, community and institutional training workshops, and expanded inter-agency cooperation among schools, temples, hospitals, and the private sector to increase production efficiency of organic fertilizer and BSF-derived products. The company remains committed to ongoing community-focused corporate social responsibility projects aimed at improving quality of life, with particular emphasis on environmental advancement initiatives targeting zero waste outcomes through the organic waste innovation greenhouse program powered by black soldier fly larvae.
