Thailand is sending 22 young underwater hockey players to the 2026 CMAS Asian Championship in Indonesia this August, with support from international coaching staff aiming for medal contention while prioritizing athlete development.
The Thai Diving Sports Association is advancing youth athletes to the international stage by sending underwater hockey teams in the U15 and U19 age categories to compete in the 2026 CMAS Asian Championship Underwater Hockey from August 5–8, 2026, in Cisarua, Bogor, Indonesia, under the World Underwater Federation (CMAS).
The association has announced 22 athletes selected for the competition across both age groups. The U15 squad includes Chern Sarasuphap Kapaich, Kannathat Thanchokkittidorn, Kitruda Chinsawangwattanakul, Krus Sarasuphap Kapaich, Natphatch Bunyapendech, Thanaphut Thongsawasdi, Theetuch Namsomm, Barmethats Ngersom, Ratchcharita Chaitwitidanant, and Wawin Kaewpuang. The U19 roster features Kantathat Noranatratakun, Thirawee Wongwanjarearn, Bura Burkaorramkavit, Panadda Saengkaew, Pongsaran Totoolarjai, Phalakrit Wichianpongsan, Paskron Wichianpongsan, Pharamyu Chaladjit, Rachet Chakkrueao, Siriboon Klongganphaanich, Sorawit Makksindu, and Supatchcha Rattanasirivilailoet.
Beyond the athletes, the association is investing in personnel development by sending three referees—Jettanat Luengamorsak, Nichaphat Makksindu, and Nithichote Ruengphaanich—for Referee Level 2 training to elevate Thailand's underwater hockey officiating standards. The coaching staff, led by Singaporean head coach Vincent Low and English coach Martin Keith, along with team manager Silsupha Wansutti and assistants Khokhuang Wanighorn and Baworn Nualapaan, has been preparing the teams through months of continuous training focusing on technique, fitness, and team cohesion. Coach Low stated that all athletes have shown satisfactory progress and are ready for competition, with the goal of reaching the podium while avoiding pressure on the young competitors. This championship represents not only a pursuit of victory but also an opportunity for learning, growth, and valuable international experience for Thailand's youth athletes.
