Thai Party Leaders Distribute Aid in Nonthaburi Floods
Democratic Party leaders inspected flood management operations in Nonthaburi on September 29, distributing food packages and promoting relief aid that provides 1,000 baht per family with simple documentation requirements.
At 12:30 p.m. on September 29, 2569, at Bang Talat Canal's drainage gate in Nonthaburi, Nattapong Rueangpanya, list MP and Democratic Party leader, along with Dechrat Sukkamuenbid, director of the Future Policy Center and head of the party's water management taskforce, inspected drainage operations and reviewed water management plans. They surveyed the drainage gate with Nophadol Chaowarunant, chief irrigation engineer at the Nonthaburi Irrigation Project (Irrigation Office 11).
At 1:00 p.m., they traveled to Samakkhi 63 Alley at Prachaoen Village in Muang Nonthaburi to observe drain pipe excavation, which was clogged with debris. Several areas remained badly flooded and required continuous drainage. Officials met residents applying for relief funds from Pak Kret Municipality, which require only photocopies of national ID, house registration, and bank book pages. Each family receives 1,000 baht, registered the same day with funds deposited the next day.
Nattapong praised the municipality's relief process as simple, efficient, and quick to reach people. His team distributed 400 food and water packages. However, many villages and communities within the municipality remain unaware of the relief program. Documents can still be submitted until October 2, 2569.
During the distribution, residents brought tamarind juice to offer and complimented Nattapong on his appearance compared to television. Pannikar Wanich, an advanced faction leader, joked that the food came from the Democratic Party kitchen prepared by Sirikanya Tansakul, list MP and party deputy leader, adding humorously that if it wasn't tasty, Sirikanya was to blame.
