A 33-year-old freelancer from Khon Kaen has been remanded in custody for the fatal shooting of Kru Biao, a 34-year-old learning center teacher from Kamphaeng Phet, who died from a single gunshot wound to the chest at a residential property in Khon Kaen.
On July 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., Pol. Col. Phakphum Detcharueangsilp, commanding officer of Ban Pet Police Station in Mueang Khon Kaen, ordered the suspect remanded in custody. She faces charges of murder and weapons violations related to carrying and firing a gun in public, with bail denied due to the serious nature of the offense. During the transport, police had to assist the suspect down the stairs, but she remained expressionless throughout.
When questioned by journalists, the suspect refused to answer verbally, instead shaking her head when asked if she wished to apologize to the victim's family. When asked if she had planned or intended to kill Kru Biao, she again shook her head.
Pol. Col. Phakphum stated that the suspect claims she was carrying a firearm and discovered used condoms, which angered her and led to a confrontation with the victim. She alleges they struggled over the gun until it discharged and struck the victim's chest. However, the sole witness—the victim's close female friend—contradicts this account, testifying that there was no argument or struggle before the suspect opened the door and fired, killing Kru Biao immediately.
"The suspect has the right to give her account, and we will ensure justice based on the evidence presented," Pol. Col. Phakphum said. "Witnesses must provide truthful testimony, or they risk charges of perjury."
Initially, investigators have filed three charges: murder and violations of the Firearms Act concerning carrying and firing a weapon in public. Additional charges for premeditation and restraint may follow depending on further investigation.
