Easy Money, a collateral-based lending service provider, has issued a public warning after discovering scammers impersonating the company by creating fake social media pages using the company's name, trademarks, and contact details. The fraudsters are also posing as company employees to trick people into transferring money and divulging personal information. Easy Money has taken legal action and notified platform providers to shut down the fake pages.
The company notes that scam tactics are becoming increasingly sophisticated, using names and logos closely resembling the genuine company to build credibility. Easy Money is urging all consumers and the public to exercise greater caution when conducting transactions and not to trust unverified channels without checking their sources.
The company has established guidelines and recommendations to prevent financial harm to the public, emphasizing the need to verify information before each money transfer. These include: checking official channels by reviewing Easy Money's 40 official Facebook pages listed on its main website (www.easymoney.co.th); verifying payment account names, which must display T2P Company Limited or T2P (Easy Money Shop) only; and protecting personal information by never disclosing passwords, one-time passwords (OTP), or financial data to anyone under any circumstances.
Regarding damage mitigation efforts, Easy Money has coordinated directly with social media platform providers to expedite the closure of fake pages and has filed complaints with authorities against those impersonating the company's trademarks to protect public interests and financial security. Impersonating lending service providers and financial institutions remains a significant risk affecting public financial security.
