Fastwork Freelance Platform To Shut Down By Year End
Fastwork, a prominent Thai freelance platform, will shut down by year-end after mounting annual losses prevented the company from delivering on its vision to connect Thai talent with global opportunities.
CK Cheong, CEO of Fastwork Technologies, a well-known freelance platform, posted an important announcement saying "I apologize and thank you for everything throughout the time we've been together." The statement revealed that fastwork.co will shut down by year end, with Cheong expressing regret that the company could not deliver on its promises.
Over the years, Fastwork attempted to create a space where Thai people could find work, hire talent, and build careers based on their skills. The company had even grander ambitions of bringing Thai talent to the global market and breaking the barrier of local-only employment. However, mounting annual losses forced the company to acknowledge failure. Cheong apologized to freelancers, clients, and all who believed in Fastwork's vision.
The platform will continue operating normally through December 31, 2024. Comments from entertainers, social media personalities, and users expressed encouragement and anticipation for Cheong's next chapter, with many saying they are waiting to see what comes next.
