Oil Train Locomotive Fire Erupts Near Bangkok Temple

At 12:01 AM on July 4, the Radio Center 191 emergency dispatch received a report of a locomotive fire on an oil transport train near Wat Diskosaram (Wat Makkasan) on Petchburi Road, Makkasan subdistrict, Ratchathewi district, Bangkok. Firefighters and rescue personnel from Phayathai station rushed to the scene and found a stationary oil transport train with capsule-shaped cylindrical tanks. Flames and smoke were visible coming from the engine room, prompting immediate action. Firefighters deployed chemical suppressant and controlled the fire within approximately 20 minutes, leaving only smoke remaining. Railway officials are currently moving the locomotive away from the railway tracks for a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
